Last updated: July 2026 · Plain-English summary — the signed paperwork for your job always takes precedence.
Phone quotes and home surveys are free and carry no obligation. A written quote is valid for 30 days and covers everything stated on it — supply, installation and guarantee — with no hidden extras. Quotes assume normal domestic staircases; anything unusual found on survey is re-quoted before work starts.
Rails are fixed to the stair treads, never the walls. We leave the staircase clean and demonstrate the lift before we go. Payment is due on completion unless agreed otherwise in writing — and where a grant application is in progress, we don't install until your approval letter has issued.
Reconditioned stairlifts we install carry a 2-year parts and labour guarantee; repair work carries 30 days on labour and 1 year on new parts. Batteries are a wear item and are excluded. The warranty requires an annual service (by us or another qualified stairlift engineer) and doesn't cover misuse, accidents or third-party tampering. Full details on our Warranty page.
Short-term rentals are billed monthly in advance, with the installation fee payable up front. Repairs and breakdown callouts during the rental are included; the lift remains our property and is removed free of charge when the rental ends. Damage beyond fair wear and tear may be charged.
Leases run for a minimum of 12 months and roll monthly thereafter. The initial downpayment covers the first month's rental, installation and end-of-lease removal. The monthly payment covers rental, all repairs and servicing, battery replacement, priority callouts and accidental damage to the stairlift itself (not to walls, floors or other property). Where a lease continues past 5 years, we exchange the lift for a freshly reconditioned unit. Setting up a lease requires a recent utility bill and photo ID (e.g. driving licence); leases we deem higher risk may be subject to a credit check. The lift remains the property of ReStairlift.ie throughout. Missed payments may result in suspension of the priority service and, after reasonable notice, removal of the lift.
Offers for used stairlifts are made on the information and photos you provide and are confirmed on inspection at collection. If the lift matches its description, you're paid the agreed amount on the spot and ownership transfers to us on payment. If it doesn't match, we'll make a revised offer — you're free to decline and we'll leave everything as found. Please have any remotes and manuals available; sellers must be the owner of the lift or authorised to sell it.
Annual services include the checklist published on our servicing page and a written check sheet. If a genuinely new fault stops your lift within 3 months of our service, the callout and labour to fix it are free (parts charged separately). Callout times quoted are targets, not guarantees — though we hit them nearly all of the time.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights or our liability for anything that can't lawfully be excluded. Our liability is otherwise limited to the value of the goods and services supplied. These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland.
